Bangalore International Airport outlines it’s new commercial plans

The Bangalore International Outline has announced its commercial plans for the new terminal 2, and the first phase is planned to open in the year 2021. In the beginning of the year BIAL has been operating at the Kempegowda International Airport revealed all the required details related of Rs 13,000 crore capital development program.

This project also includes a new 255000sq.m terminal, second runway, along with the expansion to access the roads, internal road infrastructure and the last but not the least utilities to a new multi modal transport hub. This new and the existing terminals will also be separating all the international flights that are departing from terminal 2, and will have the capacity for over more than 45 passengers.

Commercial planning is believed to begin at the T2 Beckons. By the end of 2018/19 fiscal year, the Bangalore has been successful in handling 33.30 passengers, and increases 23.8% year on year and the international traffic grew with +17.5% to 4.48m. And with the talks of TR business during the visit to the BIAL/Kempegowda International Airport said that, the new facility will turn out to be an integrated domestic as well as the international terminal with a commercial space of 22,000 sq. m in the phase one. This will grow to 40,000sq in phase two.

The entire commercial planning strategy have laid down encompasses the different zones. These also include the ultra-luxury and the luxury zones. He also added that the departures will include Ultra Luxury Zone will have more than six stores that are being spread over 505sq m. Cartier, Channel, IWC, Hermès and Dior are some of the famous and well-known targeted brands. The Travel Value Zone will here then comprise four stores, spanning 1,981sq m, while the Luxury Zone will turn out to feature nine major stores that are located across 683sq m. The Targeted brands here include Ferragamo, Tag Heuer, Bally, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Gucci, Burberry, Coach and Omega.

When it comes to the premium specialty zones will have around 12 stores being spread around over 806 sq. m. Several brand options are being considered over here, including the multi-brand DFS store and Swarovski/Paul Smith, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Jonathan Adler and the last but not the least Tiffany & Co outlets. The decision to tender the entire Terminal 2 commercial offer will turn out to benefit both the airport and passengers. “This will help obtain plenty of local world-class homegrown brands. With most duty-free stores worldwide offering the same products, it is all about brands and brand engagement. India is going through a huge transformation on this front.”
